Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to our clients and partners! 2018 was a great year for Arkinetics as we celebrated 30 years of architecture! To honor the past 30 years and the next 30, we challenged our staff to give back with 30 hours of community service. They were up to the challenge! Collectively, our firm completed 360 hours of service throughout the year.
As a team, Arkinetics found the time throughout the year to get out and help the following organizations:
Kids Book Bank – We sorted gently used children’s books at the Kid’s Book Bank. Books are distributed to low-income families in our community.
Adopt-a-Beach – We helped clean up Edgewater Beach and Wendy Park through the Adopt-a-Beach program. We tallied the types of trash collected for research to combat littering on our beaches.
Cleveland Food Bank – We sorted over 6,000 pounds of produce in just 2 hours at the Cleveland Food Bank!
Plarn-making – In December, we stayed in the office and made “plarn”. Plarn is yarn made from recycled plastic grocery bags. The yarn was given to a local church where more volunteers wove it into plastic sleeping mats for the homeless.
On their own time, Arkinetics employees fed the homeless, donated blood, gave countless hours in support of LGBTQ rights, helped the elderly with daily chores, passed out water to runners at local races, sorted donated goods for the homeless, visited nursing homes and much more! Six employees completed their 30 hour challenge! Not only did this campaign create great team-building and bonding for our firm throughout the year, it created new habits as team members have committed to serving our community again in 2019!
Cheers to you and yours in 2019. We hope to get the opportunity to work with you again and look forward to the next 30 years!
